Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions provides innovative and flexible person-centred support for people living with a disability. A Support Worker assists a customer to become more independent, in their own home and in the community, with responsibilities including personal care, medication administration, and community participation.

The role requires flexible shifts (mornings, afternoons, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekends), strong communication, and a current NDIS Worker Screening and First Aid.

Qualifications

• Should be able to interact with people who have diverse needs and abilities.
• Comfortable providing personal care and daily living supports as required.
• Willing to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support customers to develop interests and independence.
• Coach living skills such as cooking, domestic tasks and social activities.
• Administer medication and follow individual support plans.
• Complete clear handover notes and incident reports.
• Assist with personal care when required and maintain dignity.
• Support community access and participation in programs.
• Understand mental health needs and crisis management.
• Ensure safety and comply with policies during shifts.
