Job summary

VitaliCare in Logan City, Queensland, is seeking compassionate workers to provide companionship, social engagement, and home-based support for clients. You will follow individual care plans and help with daily living activities in clients' homes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Support Worker assisting people with complex disability/aged care related support needs.
• Minimum of 2+ years experience as a Support Worker.
• Experience with complex personal cares including catheter care, bowel therapy and hoisting.
• Be flexible and responsive in your ability to prepare good meals confidently.
• Strong English verbal and written interpersonal skills.
• Native or fluent level English proficiency is required for effective communication with clients and healthcare professionals.

What you need to bring

Experience: Experience as a Support Worker assisting people with complex disability/aged care related support needs. Skill with cares such as catheter care, bowl therapy, hoisting, complex personal cares are highly desirable.

Minimum of 2+ years experience as a Support Worker is required.

Experience with complex personal cares including catheter care, bowel therapy and hoisting is essential for this role.

Be flexible and responsive in your ability to prepare good meals confidently.

Communication Skills: Strong English verbal and written interpersonal skills. You will really shine if you have the ability to handle sensitive situations confidently and calmly in a goal focused manner.

Native or fluent level English proficiency is required for effective communication with clients and healthcare professionals.

Attention to Detail: Accuracy and focus, when documenting progress or barriers to a client meeting plan goals or critical incidents.

Dependability: You must be committed to performing the Shifts that you are offered (and you accepted).

Transport: You may be required to transport a client in your own vehicle. You will be paid for each KM you drive with them if you do.

Compliance: You must have and be able to provide Vitali Care with a copy of the minimum required approvals/clearances and training as listed below.

Required

• You must be Australian Citizen or be able to work in Australia; and
• A current NDIS Worker Clearance Card; and
• A current Blue Card or the ability to get one; and
• First Aid Certificate; and
• Valid Australian Driver's License; and
• Roadworthy car with comprehensive insurance; and
• Smart Phone to install workplace CRM on; and

Preferred (highly desirable)

• Certificate or degree in Individual Support or related human services.
