Job summary

Newcastle Anglican, operating Samaritans, seeks a dedicated support worker to assist individuals living with a disability to reach their potential and goals. This permanent part-time position offers 30 hours per fortnight across a 24/7 roster, including active shifts and sleep over shifts.

You will contribute to daily living activities, health needs, transport, and community participation while promoting person-centred, strengths-based support and safe, respectful interactions.

Qualifications

• You will support household activities, medical and health needs, attending community events/activities, personal care, meal management, transport, communication, and managing emotions and behaviours.
• Flexible availability across 7 days
• Certificate III Individual Support is desirable
• Be open to having conversations & be a good listener, without judgement
• Show initiative & think outside the box
• Empower participants you support- 'Do With' not 'Do For'
• Complete a pre-employment medical, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid and have a valid driver’s licence.
• Limited Part-time & Casual opportunities available
• Preferably be able to work a Rotating roster including some weekends and sleep overs/active night & split shifts.
