Job summary

Samaritans, in Newcastle Anglican, is hiring to support individuals living with a disability to reach their potential and goals. Roles include 24/7 roster availability, including sleep over shifts, with permanent part-time positions across Adamstown and Raymond Terrace.

We value empathy, active listening and strong communication. Certificate III in Individual Support is desirable; successful applicants complete pre-employment medical and checks.

Qualifications

• Support household activities and personal care.
• Assist with medical and health needs and medication reminders.
• Help participants attend community events and manage transport.
• Support emotional management and behaviours with a patient, non-judgemental approach.

Responsibilities

• Flexible availability across 7 days.
• Rotate roster including some weekends and sleep-overs.
• Complete safety checks and pre-employment requirements.
