Job summary

Oyster Care is seeking enthusiastic Support Workers to assist participants with disabilities, including complex behaviours, in home and community settings around Sydney. Roles are casual and part-time with a focus on person-centred support and daily living skills.

Applicants should have mental health experience, strong communication, and be willing to travel. Valid NSW drivers licence and vaccinations are required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience with mental health, aged care, community and disability care.
• Willing to provide personal care to both male and female participants.
• Experience supporting participants using aids such as wheelchairs, walking frames or hoists.
• Experience supporting participants with daily living skills, food preparation and housekeeping.
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Own and willing to use a comprehensively insured vehicle as part of a service including transporting participants.
• Covid-19 vaccination and willingness to have further vaccines as directed by health authorities.
• Must be willing to travel around Sydney.

Responsibilities

• Community access: transport to appointments and outings.
• Personal Care: showering, personal hygiene, continence and grooming.
• Domestic duties: light housework, meal preparations.
• Documentation: record services and supports aligned with participants' goals.
