Job summary

Western Sydney University is seeking a dedicated Disability Services Advisor to provide specialist advice and advocacy for students with disability, chronic health and mental health conditions. You will develop and monitor academic reasonable adjustment plans and collaborate with staff to ensure accessible facilities and learning environments.

Strong data-driven improvement and cross-team collaboration are required.

Qualifications

A tertiary qualification in Allied Health, Education, Social Work or a related field.
Extensive experience supporting and advising a diverse range of clients with disability.
Knowledge of disability discrimination, education standards, anti-discrimination and privacy legislation.
Strong advocacy, negotiation and communication skills, including experience presenting to varied audiences.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, build collaborative relationships and use Microsoft 365 and CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

Deliver tailored, proactive and responsive support to students with disability.
Collaborate with students and staff to develop, monitor and refine academic reasonable adjustment plans.
Provide specialist advice, advocacy and guidance on accessible facilities, services and learning environments.
Use service data, performance measures and student feedback to identify gaps and recommend targeted improvements.
Build effective referral pathways and co-develop educational programs that strengthen accessibility and inclusion.
