Job summary

Western Sydney University is seeking a specialist to provide inclusive support to students with disability, chronic health and mental health conditions at Bankstown campus with flexible working arrangements.

You will develop, monitor and refine academic reasonable adjustment plans, offer advocacy and guidance on accessible facilities, and collaborate with students and staff to strengthen accessibility and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in Allied Health, Education, Social Work or a related field.
  • Extensive experience advising a diverse range of clients with disability.
  • Knowledge of disability discrimination, education standards, anti-discrimination and privacy legislation.
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills with experience presenting to varied audiences.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 and CRM platforms.

Job description

  • Full-time, 12 month contract at HEW 8 level
  • Bankstown campus with flexible working arrangements
  • Salary: $120,754 – $134,051 plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.


Provide specialist advice and inclusive support that improves access, participation and success for students with disability.
The Opportunity

You will deliver tailored, proactive and responsive support to students with disability, chronic health conditions and/or mental health conditions helping to improve their access, participation, retention and success at the University.

You will collaborate with students and staff to develop, monitor and refine academic reasonable adjustment plans. You will provide specialist advice, advocacy and guidance on accessible facilities, services and learning environments while supporting students with sensitive or complex educational matters.

You will use service data, performance measures and student feedback to identify gaps and recommend targeted improvements. You will also build effective referral pathways, maintain accurate records and co-develop educational programs that strengthen accessibility and inclusion across the University community.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver responsive, high-quality advice, advocacy and support to students with disability.
  • Develop and review effective academic reasonable adjustment plans with students and staff.
  • Use service data and student feedback to identify gaps and implement targeted improvements.
  • Strengthen collaborative relationships and referral pathways with internal and external partners.
  • Deliver educational initiatives that promote accessibility and inclusive practice across the University.
