Job summary

The Benevolent Society is seeking a Community Services Consultant for the Disability Gateway in Sydney. You will be the first point of contact for clients seeking information, services and referrals, helping people with disability, their families and carers access supports across Australia.

You will listen with empathy, provide clear guidance, and assist navigating complex systems like NDIS and My Aged Care, ensuring a supportive experience for every client.

Qualifications

• Experience in the community services sector.
• Familiarity with Australian government funding bodies (e.g., NDIS, My Aged Care).
• Customer service experience, especially in phone-based roles.
• High level of emotional regulation and inclusion.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and multitask in high-stress situations.
• Willingness to learn more about available services and programs.
• Certificate III/IV or Diploma in relevant fields is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and referral support providing a calm, informative experience.
• Research within KPI duration to connect clients with validated information.
• Identify risks and vulnerabilities; connect callers to appropriate services.
• Assist callers navigating government funding systems (NDIS, My Aged Care).
