Job summary

Department of Children and Families in Alice Springs seeks a Senior Professional Officer 2 to lead the Central Region in statutory welfare services. You will shape policy implementation, manage resources and liaise with stakeholders to ensure high standards of service delivery.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership with extensive experience delivering statutory welfare services.
• Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to complex issues.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Degree qualification from an Australian tertiary institution with eligibility for ACWA/AASW/APS membership, or equivalent, OR Diploma + cert in Community Services Practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership and management across the Central Region.
• Influence recommendations to develop, implement and evaluate agency policies and procedures.
• Manage departmental resources in accordance with legislation.
• Establish and maintain strategic alliances with internal and external stakeholders; provide high level advice on complex issues; assist in emergency welfare management responsibilities.
