Job summary

The High Speed Rail Authority seeks a Project Director, Train Systems & System Integration to lead Australia’s first high-speed rail program. Based in Sydney or Newcastle, you will own strategy, governance and delivery of major rolling stock and rail systems, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and timely entry into service.

You will drive program-wide integration across subsystems, lead commercial strategies and oversight of suppliers, and build a high-performing multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading major rolling stock, fleet or rail systems programs.
• Deep knowledge of rail standards, acceptance frameworks and regulatory approvals.
• Demonstrated capability in commercial strategy, contract management and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead program strategy for rolling stock and rail systems, integrating procurement, systems engineering, testing and commissioning.
• Establish and maintain governance, assurance, safety and reporting frameworks.
• Direct systems integration across rolling stock, signaling, ETCS, power and depots.
• Oversee engineering assurance, regulatory approvals and entry-into-service processes.
• Lead commercial strategy, procurement and contract performance across OEMs and partners.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery from manufacturing to early life support.
• Prepare operator and maintenance readiness, including training and spares.
