Job summary

High Speed Rail Authority is seeking a senior communications and engagement executive to lead project communications and community engagement for Australia’s first high speed rail network. You will drive strategic messaging, inclusive stakeholder engagement and alignment across planning, property acquisition and delivery phases.

You will manage resident and landowner engagement, establish engagement frameworks and tools, and work with internal teams to ensure timely, transparent information flow

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading community and stakeholder engagement on major infrastructure projects, with exposure to property acquisition a strong differentiator.
• Ability to design inclusive and transparent engagement programs that build trust and enable informed community input.
• Experience managing sensitive interactions with affected communities and mitigating engagement risk.
• Knowledge of planning approvals and regulatory frameworks and the obligations they place on engagement practice.
• Experience engaging with local councils, state governments, First Nations communities, community organisations and local businesses.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project communication strategies that inform strategic decision making and align with priorities.
• Design and execute community engagement programs that deliver timely, transparent information and enable informed community input.
• Lead engagement with residents and landowners affected by property acquisition.
• Develop and oversee engagement frameworks, systems and tools that track engagement and align with best practice.
• Drive co-design and corridor engagement from planning through to acquisition and delivery.
