Job summary

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Established Growth team, providing strategic direction and technical oversight across Priority Development Areas. The role focuses on guiding complex infrastructure outcomes and ensuring regulatory alignment.

You will mentor engineers, influence development paths, and build strong relationships with government, developers and consultants while driving governance and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Ideally tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in complex infrastructure, development assessment or engineering environments.
• Local government experience complemented by engineering consultancy exposure.
• Proven senior technical advisory and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for infrastructure outcomes.
• Lead and develop the Established Growth engineering team.
• Offer high-level engineering advice on complex infrastructure and planning matters.
• Build relationships with government agencies, developers, consultants and industry stakeholders.
• Drive continuous governance improvements and service delivery.
