Job summary

Kidz Ink Long Day Care Centre in Campbelltown, NSW, is seeking an Experienced Diploma Room Leader to join their team full-time. You will lead day-to-day operations in your room, create a safe, welcoming learning environment and ensure children receive high-quality care and development support.

Qualifications

• A current Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
• 3–5 years' experience in early childhood education and care with room leader experience.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF and current best practice.
• Excellent planning, programming and documentation skills.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent communication with families and colleagues.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Working With Children Check clearance (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations within your room, creating a safe, welcoming and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Plan and implement play-based learning experiences that promote children’s development in line with EYLF.
• Observe and assess individual children’s development and use this information to inform learning plans.
• Supervise and mentor team members within your room, providing guidance and support.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families through regular communication and progress reports.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including portfolios and compliance records.
• Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards are met, including routines for rest, meals and personal care.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in educational approaches.
• Contribute to professional development and centre-wide improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with external professionals when additional support is required.
