The Perth USAsia Centre, based at The University of Western Australia, is seeking a Digital Content Creation Officer to shape its digital voice and visual storytelling. This full-time fixed-term role produces multimedia content across video, audio, photography and online platforms to engage audiences locally and internationally.

You will manage WordPress CMS updates, support Centre events, and work with a small communications team to deliver strategic communications and marketing initiatives.

• Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise in digital content creation.
• Substantial experience working with communications teams, focusing on digital content creation.
• Proficiency in WordPress CMS, Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva; familiarity with event/webinar platforms and ticketing systems.
• Strong cross-cultural awareness to engage diverse groups.

• Play a key role in shaping the digital voice and visual storytelling of the Perth USAsia Centre, a leading organisation advancing strategic engagement between Australia, the Indo-Pacific and the United States.
• Create impactful multimedia content across video, audio, photography and digital platforms that reaches diverse audiences locally and internationally.
• Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for one year, with the possibility of extension.
• Base salary range: $99,040 – $104,669 p.a. plus 12% superannuation.

The Perth USAsia Centre (the Centre) is a non-partisan and not-for profit institution. Through research and educational activities, the Centre strengthens strategic thinking between Australia, the Indo-Pacific, and the United States and engages thought leaders to address challenges and opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region.

Based at The University of Western Australia, the Centre is an independent company and shares the values of the University. It has a strong commitment to personal effectiveness, working collaboratively and demonstrating a focus on results. There is an expectation that this role would be based in Perth.

This position sits within the Communications team, which is responsible for the delivery of innovative, professional, and strategic communication, marketing and engagement activities.

About the opportunity

• Coordinate and produce video and audio content for online courses, promotional materials, report launches, the Explainer series, and Centre events.
• Produce and maintain photography to support the Centre’s communications and program priorities.
• Maintain and update the Centre’s website (with WordPress experience) to support strategic communications initiatives and ensure content remains current and accessible.
• Desirable criteria listed in the position description include capabilities transferable across a small team of marketing and communications professionals. These criteria are not essential to apply for the Digital Content Creation Officer role.

About you

• Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise in digital content creation; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Substantial relevant experience working with communications teams, with a focus on digital content creation (photography, video production, digital asset creation).
• Proficiency in a range of digital platforms and computing tools, including website editing (WordPress/CMS), event and webinar platforms, ticketing systems, database platforms, and content creation tools (Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva).
• Strong cross-cultural awareness with the ability to engage diverse groups effectively.

Note

Occasional early morning and after-hours work may be required and will be negotiated as part of the role.
