Job summary

NQ Towing and Transport is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join the Cairns branch. The role focuses on completing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to keep the fleet safe and reliable.

You will diagnose mechanical faults, perform repairs as needed, and conduct inspections to rectify defects, ensuring roadworthy vehicles in line with NHVR standards. Maintaining accurate service records and a tidy workshop are essential duties.

Qualifications

• Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualification.
• Experience maintaining heavy vehicles.
• Strong preventative maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Reliable, safety-focused and comfortable working within a stable team.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our branch in Cairns.

Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs when required

Conduct inspections and promptly rectify identified defects

Ensure vehicles remain safe, reliable and roadworthy vehicles in line with NHVR

Maintain accurate service and maintenance records

Required skills
