Job summary

Blake Machinery Group is seeking experienced diesel fitters to support on-site maintenance of prime movers and trailers on a mine site near Weipa. The role involves scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault diagnosis, and keeping precise service records for Scania and Kenworth fleet assets.

The ideal candidate has heavy diesel trade qualifications, HR licence, and proven experience in mining/FIFO environments, with a strong safety mindset and ability to work independently or in teams.

Qualifications

• Proven HD mechanical servicing, breakdown and fault finding/diagnostic experience on prime movers and trailers.
• Day and night shift, mining/FIFO experience preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
• Strong commitment towards safe work practices.
• Proven problem-solving ability, strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Heavy Diesel/Duty trade qualification or equivalent.
• HR Licence.
• Cert II in Automotive Air Conditioning (highly desirable).
• Mining/FIFO experience or rigging/dogging/non-slewing crane tickets favored.

Responsibilities

• Maintain prime movers and trailers on a mine site.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, breakdowns and repairs.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Complete and maintain accurate service records for all assets.

Job description

Blake Machinery Group (BMG) is a large family-owned business specialising in the supply and maintenance of high quality earthmoving equipment to the mining, civil and private sectors.

BMG is currently looking for experienced diesel fitters to assist maintaining a fleet of prime movers and trailers on a mine site near Weipa.

Scheduled maintenance, breakdown and repairs of Scania and Kenworth prime movers (360T GCM) and jumbo off-road side tippers

Fault diagnosis and trouble shooting

Complete and maintain accurate equipment service records

Essential skills:

Proven HD mechanical servicing, breakdown and fault finding/diagnostic experience on prime movers and trailers
