Job summary

Blake Machinery Group (BMG) is seeking an experienced diesel fitter to support maintenance of mining earthmoving equipment on a remote Weipa mine site. You will perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose faults and repair prime movers and trailers, ensuring accurate service records.

This role requires heavy diesel trade qualification, HR license and FIFO experience. The roster is 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, with meals, accommodation, and flights provided.

Qualifications

• Proven HD mechanical servicing, breakdown and fault finding on prime movers and trailers.
• Day and night shift, mining/FIFO experience preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
• Strong commitment towards safe work practices.
• Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Heavy Diesel/Duty trade qualification or equivalent.
• HR license.
• Cert II in Automotive Air Conditioning (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Scheduled maintenance of mining and earthmoving equipment.
• Fault diagnosis and repairs on CAT, Volvo and Komatsu equipment.
• Complete and maintain accurate service records.
• Assist on mine site near Weipa.

Job description

Blake Machinery Group (BMG) is a large family-owned business specialising in the supply and maintenance of high quality earthmoving equipment to the mining, civil and private sectors.

BMG is currently looking for experienced diesel fitters to assist maintaining a fleet of mining and earthmoving equipment on a mine site near Weipa.

Scheduled maintenance, breakdown and repairs of mining and earthmoving equipment, including CAT (992, 988K, D10T, D8T etc), Volvo (A60H) and Komatsu (PC450, PC350)

Fault diagnosis and trouble shooting

Complete and maintain accurate equipment service records

Essential skills:

• Proven HD mechanical servicing, breakdown and fault finding/diagnostic experience on prime movers and trailers
• Day and night shift, mining/FIFO experience preferred
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team
• Strong commitment towards safe work practices
• Proven problem-solving ability, strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Heavy Diesel/Duty trade qualification or equivalent
• HR license
• Cert II in Automotive Air Conditioning (highly desirable)
• Candidates with mining/FIFO experience, as well as those with rigging/dogging and non-slewing crane tickets will be viewed favorably.
