Job summary

Batchfire Resources is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Diesel Fitter for Callide Mine in Biloela, Central Queensland. This is a 6‑month contract role with a rotating day/night roster and the opportunity to extend, reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor.

Key duties involve routine maintenance and fault finding on heavy earthmoving equipment; collaboration with a team and independent task execution; and ensuring safe, reliable mine operations.

Qualifications

• Must hold Australian C Class Driver License.
• Must be able to pass a Coal Board Medical.
• Desirable: Standard 11 Induction Training Certificate or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and fault-find on heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Work under the Maintenance Supervisor on shift, both on a team and independently.
• Contribute to safety and operational standards on site.

Who are Batchfire Resources?

Batchfire Resources is the owner of Callide Mine in Central Queensland, an open-cut coal operation located 120km southwest of Gladstone and 20km northeast of the thriving regional township of Biloela. The mine has operated since 1944 producing coal primarily for domestic power generation, alumina refining and export markets.

About the role

Location: Callide Mine, Biloela, Central Queensland

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician - Diesel Fitter, to join our Maintenance Department at Callide Mine. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility to extend. The mine utilises draglines, dozers, excavators, loaders, large truck fleets and coal handling facilities to produce coal for domestic and export customers. This is a temporary position working a rotating day/night shift roster.

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor on shift, your key result areas will include having self‑pride in your ability to work safely and act as an example to fellow peers on site. This role requires the successful candidate to have extensive experience in routine maintenance and fault finding on heavy earthmoving equipment. The position requires the willingness to work together as part of a team to accomplish the tasks at hand, whilst also trusted to work independently at times. Personal attributes will include being accountable for your output and achievements, punctuality and always presenting fit for work.
