Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to service and repair heavy mobile plant, mining and earthmoving equipment in the Hunter Valley NSW.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance and return machinery to operation with minimal supervision, while adhering to safety standards and roster discussions based on experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent.
• Certificate of Proficiency preferred.
• Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Mechanic.
• Experience with heavy mobile plant, mining or earthmoving equipment.
• Strong mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Current Australian Manual Driver’s Licence.
• Australian working rights.

Job description

Looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to work on heavy mobile plant, mining and earthmoving equipment in the Hunter Valley NSW.

The role involves servicing, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, mechanical repairs and fault finding on heavy diesel machinery and mobile plant.

We’re looking for a mechanic who knows heavy equipment, can diagnose problems properly and can get machinery back to work without needing to be constantly supervised.

Roster arrangements can be discussed depending on experience and availability.

• Servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy mobile plant

• Breakdown repairs and mechanical repairs

• Fault finding and diagnostics on heavy diesel equipment

• Repairs and maintenance on mining and earthmoving machinery

• Identifying mechanical faults and getting equipment back to work

About you

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent

• Experience with heavy mobile plant, mining or earthmoving equipment

• Australian working rights

Experience with CAT and other heavy mobile plant is essential and will be expected.
