Job summary

Westgold is seeking a hands-on Maintenance/Field Operator at our Higginsville operation near Norseman. You’ll support Processing and Maintenance teams, service gensets, pumps, fuel systems, and pipelines, while ensuring safe, efficient plant operation.

You will hold a C Class WA driver’s licence, have experience in a gold processing environment, and possess poly welding and various tickets. This role offers a permanent full-time roster with FIFO/DIDO options and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current C Class Manual Western Australian driver’s licence.
• Experience in a gold or similar processing plant.
• Poly welding ticket.
• Telehandler, IT Loader, CN and LF tickets desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment.
• Familiarity with safe handling of fuel delivery and monitoring equipment.
• Experience with pipelines, pumps & water transfer systems.
• Basic understanding of welding techniques for poly pipe.
• Experience with Pronto CMMS (desirable).
• Physically fit with ability to perform manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Processing and Maintenance teams in daily operational activities.
• Maintain and service remote field service equipment: gensets, pumping systems, lighting towers, compressors.
• Remote field fuel management – refuel, record fuel consumption, inspections.
• Clean operational areas around the plant using mobile equipment (IT loaders, bobcat, forklift).
• Monitor and record critical water management and pipeline inspections.
• Poly pipe welding repairs and modifications as required.
• Participate in maintenance planning activities.
• Maintain detailed maintenance history in Pronto.
• Liaise with Contractors and Stakeholders as required.
