Job summary

The University of Newcastle is seeking a DevOps Engineering Specialist to advance our enterprise technology platforms from the Callaghan Campus. You will work across an enterprise-grade stack and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and performance.

You’ll mentor teammates, help lift capability, and contribute to a culture of innovation and accountability as you solve hard problems at scale. This is a full-time role in Digital Technology Solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing and building scalable enterprise systems.
• Experience with DevOps automation, CI/CD, IaC and observability.
• Experience with ITSM processes (incident, change, release, problem).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy software, infrastructure and toolsets for build, test and release.
• Build and develop platform pipelines within the capability area.
• Design and improve AI-assisted development, CI/CD, automation and IaC.
• Analyze, debug and troubleshoot incidents to support delivery.
• Mentor junior team members and raise DevOps capability.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors.
