Job summary

CFS is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments across our cloud-based platforms. You will work with GitHub, Jenkins and deployment tools to improve release efficiency and platform performance.

You will collaborate with Tech, Infrastructure and Product teams in a Hybrid Sydney-based role, contributing to DevSecOps, IaC, and agile delivery while supporting service reliability for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub in cloud-based environments.
• Strong expertise in DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and scripting (Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python, .NET).
• Proven capability managing releases, monitoring, and service reliability.
• Proactive, collaborative problem-solver who works in Agile environments.
• Degree in IT/CS or related (desirable).

Your Team

The FirstChoice & Edge Technology Operations Team sits within the COO and is responsible for the development and support of FirstChoice, Fund Services systems, and Edge Platform Operations. The team plays a key role in delivering CFS's strategic priorities, including adviser and customer growth, partner expansion, retirement solutions, and technology transformation. The DevOps Engineer reports to the Environment Manager and works closely with stakeholders across Technology, Infrastructure, Cyber, Digital, Data & Analytics, Risk & Compliance, Product, and Customer Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to improve software delivery and release efficiency.
• Manage and support DevOps platforms including GitHub, Jenkins, deployment tools, and build infrastructure.
• Maintain cloud-hosted applications, infrastructure automation, and platform performance.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues, platform incidents, and provide Level 2/3 operational support.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, analysts, and delivery teams to promote DevOps best practices.
• Contribute to platform enhancements, technology uplift initiatives, and future roadmap planning.

• Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub and GitHub Actions within cloud-based environments.
• Strong expertise in DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, automation and scripting technologies including Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python and .NET.
• Proven capability managing releases, monitoring and observability, with a focus on service reliability, operational excellence and customer outcomes.
• A proactive and adaptable problem solver who takes ownership, works collaboratively across teams, communicates effectively with stakeholders and delivers outcomes in Agile environments.
• Degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline (Desirable).
