Job summary

UNSW is seeking a Development Project Officer to sit within the Development team, partnering with faculties to maximise donor engagement and fundraising outcomes. The role focuses on coordinating high-quality donor communications, stewardship and portfolio-specific activities while supporting operations and reporting across multiple faculties.

You will work with professional and academic colleagues, manage a diverse range of projects, and report to the Head of Development.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Exceptional written communication skills for proposals, reports, donor communications and executive briefings.
• Proven ability to build productive relationships, work collaboratively and influence stakeholders.
• Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when managing sensitive information.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise competing demands and work independently.
• Experience using CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge to maintain records, reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality donor communications and materials in collaboration with Development colleagues and academic staff.
• Prepare internal briefings, talking points and background materials to support donor engagement by Development Managers and senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate stewardship and engagement activities across team portfolios and events.
• Support fundraising operations, CRM records, reporting and donor research.
• Independently manage assigned projects, progressing work with sound judgement and meeting deadlines.
• Collaborate with the Head of Development to coordinate operational and engagement activities to maximise fundraising effectiveness.
