Job summary

UNSW Kensington Campus seeks an experienced Development Project Officer to coordinate donor communications, stewardship, and engagement activities. You will support fundraising operations and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision, contributing to the overall effectiveness of UNSW's Development team.

The role partners with faculties including Law & Justice, Arts, Design & Architecture, and Business School.

Why Your Role Matters:

The Development Project Officer sits within the Development team partnering with the faculties of Law & Justice, Arts, Design & Architecture and the UNSW Business School. The role maximises the capacity of frontline fundraisers by coordinating and delivering high-quality, portfolio-specific donor communications, stewardship, cultivation and engagement activities, alongside fundraising operations that strengthen donor relationships and maximise the effectiveness of UNSW's Development team.

Working independently and collaboratively with professional and academic colleagues, you will manage a diverse range of projects and complement support provided by the Development Coordinator, Advancement Services and Advancement Programs teams.

The role reports to the Head of Development and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities Summary:

• Develop high-quality donor communications and materials, including proposals, impact reports, stewardship updates and acknowledgements, in collaboration with Development colleagues and academic staff.
• Prepare clear and concise internal briefings, talking points and background materials to support donor and prospect engagement by Development Managers, Deans and senior University stakeholders.
• Coordinate stewardship and engagement activities across team portfolios, including donor reporting, scholarship stewardship, donor visits and engagement events.
• Support fundraising operations, CRM records, reporting, donor research and portfolio data.
• Independently manage assigned projects, anticipating needs and progressing work with sound judgement, minimal supervision and to deadlines.
• Partner with the Head of Development and Development Managers to coordinate operational, stewardship and engagement activities that maximise fundraising effectiveness.

Skills and Experience Summary:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Exceptional written communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality proposals, reports, donor communications and executive briefings.
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships, work collaboratively and influence stakeholders across diverse internal and external groups.
• Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when managing sensitive relationships and confidential information.
• Highly organised, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate requirements, prioritise competing demands and work independently.
• Experience using CRM systems such as Raiser's Edge to maintain accurate records, reporting and documentation.
