Job summary

University of Sydney is seeking a Development Manager – Retail & Place to lead assessment, planning and delivery of property development across the campus portfolio. Based at Camperdown, you will drive feasibility, business cases and delivery while aligning with university priorities.

You will oversee governance, procurement and risk, mentor project teams and coordinate stakeholder engagement to achieve strategically valuable outcomes for student, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in retail and place outcomes in similar university or mixed-use environments.
• Extensive program management experience to meet deadlines across complex programs.
• Highly developed financial planning skills and commercial acumen.
• Expertise in consulting, strategy development, business-case development and transformational projects.
• Solid governance, safety and compliance management with minimal disruption.

Responsibilities

• Lead development activities across feasibility, planning, approvals, procurement, design and delivery.
• Support preparation of business cases, investment proposals and strategic recommendations.
• Ensure governance, procurement, WHS and environmental requirements are met.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement to support project outcomes.
• Lead and mentor project teams and direct reports where applicable.
• Support Development Director with industry consultation activity.
