Job summary

Ballina Shire Council is seeking a planning professional to join the Development Services team as a Town Planner. The role supports high-quality development assessment and compliance, offering the chance to influence growth and sustainable outcomes across the Ballina Shire.

Flexible arrangements are discussed for full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days/week) commitments. The successful candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related discipline, with demonstrated experience

Qualifications

To be successful you will bring strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to prepare complex technical reports and submissions.
Demonstrated knowledge of planning and statutory processes.
Experience in development assessment and statutory planning.
Knowledge of the Local Government Act and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.
Ability to work independently and in a team with a focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

Support delivery of high-quality development assessment and compliance services.
Provide advice and support to contribute to high-quality development outcomes.
Contribute to a wide variety of development projects including large greenfield subdivisions, commercial, mixed-use, industrial and visitor accommodation.
