Job summary

Digga Australia is seeking a hands-on Despatch Leading Hand at our Yatala facility in Queensland. You will lead the Despatch team, coordinate daily despatch schedule, and ensure orders are packed, checked, and delivered on time, in full.

With at least two years in a similar role, you will demonstrate strong leadership, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability, and you will liaise with other departments while supporting continuous improvement and staff wellbeing programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar despatch/leadership role.
• Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership and clear communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Infor M3 or similar.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily despatch schedule.
• Lead and motivate the Despatch team and ensure timely, accurate packing and checking.
• Ensure despatch instructions are followed and rosters complied with.
• Liaise with other departments to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations.
• Check orders packed for despatch/export and complete transport documentation.
• Support customer service and integrity during processing.
• Identify improvements and participate in training and staff wellbeing programs.

Job description

We have an exciting hands-on leadership opportunity as our Despatch Leading Hand based at our busy Yatala facility in Queensland. In this fast-paced role, you will lead and motivate the Despatch team, keep daily operations running smoothly, and play a key part in ensuring customer orders are packed, checked, and delivered on time, in full. Reporting to the Despatch and Receiving Supervisor, you will bring at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, strong attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting capabilities, and the confidence to think on your feet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the daily despatch schedule
• Ensure despatch instructions are being followed and rosters are complied with
• Liaise with other departments as necessary
• Check orders that are packed for despatch/export
• Ensure checking and completion of transport documentation
• Lead team and drive results within a manufacturing environment
• 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities
• Clear and articulate oral and written communication skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Strong customer service and integrity
• Ability to effectively influence actions and opinions of others
• Experience with ERP systems or (Infor M3 or similar)
