Job summary

Leading Australian insurance organisation is searching for a Team Leader - Desktop Home Assessing to guide and grow a team of around eight Desktop Home Assessors. This hands-on leadership role blends coaching, people leadership and operational oversight to improve quality and consistency in Home Claims outcomes.

You will collaborate with internal teams, builders and industry professionals, driving performance, capability development and process enhancements across people and systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a professional team.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Home Assessing, residential building, or related environment.
• Strong understanding of residential building, estimating, scoping and/or claims processes.
• Experience with KPIs, operational reporting and performance metrics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of approximately eight Desktop Home Assessors.
• Provide technical guidance across virtual assessments, scoping and cost validation.
• Drive quality, compliance, productivity and service performance across the team.
• Manage escalated claims, complaints and complex stakeholder matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, efficiency and claims outcomes.
• Provide operational insights and reporting to support broader Home Claims performance.

We're partnering with a leading Australian insurance organisation to appoint a Team Leader - Desktop Home Assessing to lead and develop a team of experienced Home Assessors. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you'll combine people leadership, technical coaching and operational oversight, while helping drive quality, consistency and continuous improvement across the Home Claims function. Who will you be working with? You'll be joining an established Home Claims function within a large and well-regarded Australian insurance organisation. The team plays an important role in delivering positive customer outcomes through accurate, efficient and well-managed claims. Reporting to the State Manager - Assessing, you'll lead a team of approximately eight Desktop Home Assessors and work closely with internal teams, builders, suppliers, assessors and other industry professionals. The role offers genuine scope to influence how the team operates, develop capability and contribute to improvements across people, processes and systems. You'll have the support and exposure of a broader leadership structure while taking ownership of your team's performance and development.

What do you need?

• Previous experience leading, coaching or mentoring a professional team
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Home Assessing, residential building or a related environment
• Strong understanding of residential building, estimating, scoping and/or claims processes
• Previous estimating experience will be highly regarded
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with KPIs, operational reporting and performance metrics
