Job summary

Hinchen Recruitment Group’s client is an international Insurance leader seeking to expand their Home Assessing teams across multiple regions. This role is based in NSW and can be onsite or field-based, leading a high-performing group of assessors responsible for on-road and desktop home assessments, scope validation and end-to-end claims management.

You will coach and mentor assessors, improve operational performance and drive exceptional customer outcomes during challenging times for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in Home Assessing or building insurance.
• Experience in estimating, scoping and assessing residential building repairs.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within Home Assessing or the broader Building industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor a team of Assessors.
• Drive high standards across scoping accuracy, cost validation and claims management.
• Manage escalated claims and complex customer matters.
• Monitor team performance, KPIs and operational outcomes.
• Support process improvement initiatives across the Home Claims function.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and repair networks.
• Provide ongoing training, feedback and capability development across the team.
• Contribute to workforce planning and operational improvements.

We're excited to partner with an international Insurance leader in growth - today they are seeking to expand their high performing Infield and Desktop Home Assessing teams in Qld Vic NSW & SA. This is an outstanding opportunity based from Lidcombe NSW for an experienced Home Assessor, Building Supervisor or Assessing professional with leadership experience looking to join a business that genuinely invests in its people, systems and future growth as a Team Leader. This role can be either full time onsite in the office or On Road (In the field) - take your pick!

In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of 6 Assessors responsible for on road and/or desktop-based home assessing, scope validation, cost control and end-to-end claims management across residential insurance claims.

You’ll play a critical role in coaching and mentoring assessors, improving operational performance and helping drive exceptional customer outcomes during what can often be challenging times for customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within Home Assessing, Building, Insurance or Trade-related environments
• Strong background in estimating, scoping and assessing residential building repairs
• Ability to mentor, inspire and performance manage a team
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational and time management capability
• Experience handling escalations, complaints or complex claims matters
• Insurance industry experience highly regarded, but not essential
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within Home Assessing or the broader Building industry
