Frontline Recruitment Group is seeking a Design Manager for industrial and commercial construction projects based in South Windsor, NSW. You will lead the design process from concept to construction documentation, coordinating architects, engineers and consultants, and ensuring alignment with budgets and schedules.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, knowledge of building codes and standards, and experience delivering complex design solutions in a private, established construction

About the Role
Our client is a well-established, privately owned construction company based in South Windsor, specialising in the delivery of industrial and commercial developments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a design professional who understands the relationship between design, constructability, cost and project delivery, and enjoys collaborating with stakeholders to bring projects to life.
This is a full-time, office-based position in South Windsor.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process across industrial and commercial construction projects, from concept design through to construction documentation.
• Coordinate architects, structural and civil engineers, building services consultants and other design stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specifications and design documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance and alignment with project requirements.
• Monitor design programmes, deliverables and milestones to ensure documentation is completed within required timeframes.
• Identify design risks, discrepancies, clashes and constructability issues, working with consultants and project teams to develop practical solutions.
• Collaborate with estimating and construction teams to ensure designs align with project budgets, scopes and construction methodologies.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering, design optimisation and cost efficiencies without compromising quality or performance.
• Coordinate design reviews, manage revisions and maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure relevant building codes, Australian Standards, planning conditions and regulatory requirements are considered throughout the design process.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to clarify project requirements, resolve design issues and manage changes.

Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in a Design Manager, Design Coordinator or similar role within the construction industry.
• Experience coordinating the design of commercial and industrial construction projects.
• A sound understanding of construction documentation, building methods, materials and project delivery processes.
• Experience working with architects, engineers, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• The ability to review drawings and identify design coordination issues, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Strong knowledge of design programmes, documentation control and project deadlines.
• An understanding of relevant building codes, Australian Standards and statutory approval processes.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• The ability to work full-time from the South Windsor office.
