Job summary

RHL, a Sydney-based design agency, is seeking a Senior Industrial Designer to own projects from concept through production, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing partners.

Ideal candidates have ~10 years in industrial/product design, a degree in Industrial Design, hands-on prototyping, CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), and strong project-management abilities. The role offers a dynamic, award-winning environment in central Sydney.

Qualifications

• Circa 10 years' professional experience in industrial or product design.
• Degree in Industrial Design or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and bringing products to market.
• Proficient in design thinking and creative problem-solving.
• Solid project management and organisational abilities.
• Skilled in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and other design tools.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in team environments.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of projects from concept to manufacture.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance to clients and internal project teams.
• Ensure all deliverables meet the company’s quality management standards.
• Accurately estimate current and future workloads to support planning and resource allocation.
• Conduct thorough technical reviews of designs and documentation to maintain high engineering standards.
• Act as the primary technical contact for clients and project managers.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, systems and documentation.
