Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting a Design Manager to join the AUKUS team in Adelaide, SA, to help deliver Australia’s defence and nuclear infrastructure projects. The role requires a degree in engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent, with at least five years in design/engineering/construction and Australian citizenship with ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.

The candidate will plan and execute works, provide technical support to delivery teams, challenge designs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Geotechnical disciplines is required.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent is required or must be obtained.
  • Experience in the Design/Engineering/Construction field is advantageous.

  • Plan and execute works to achieve project outcomes.
  • Provide timely and reliable technical support to delivery teams.
  • Challenge designs and drive practical, constructable solutions.
  • Utilise Digital Engineering to improve planning and coordination.

About You

  • Previous experience working in high‑risk construction industry
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
