Job summary

Job Description

Defence is seeking a Level 3 Design Lead to support a command, control, communications, computing, ISR and electronic warfare (C4ISREW) capability program. Sitting within the program's Capability Management Office, the Design Lead supports the Program Architect with technical leadership and systems engineering management across capability architecture and system design. The role assures technical coherence of capability design and integration, ensures compliance with Defence engineering policies, standards and integration frameworks, and leads senior technical stakeholder engagement across Defence, Government and international partners.

Key duties: understudy and support the Program Architect; senior technical engagement on tranche and sub-system design; prepare written briefs for senior Defence committees and boards; support Business Case development and deliver briefings; participate in relevant Defence design and integration working groups; oversee capability development and risk-reduction activities and advise on maturity for Commonwealth acceptance; input to and review the Operational Concept Document, Test and Evaluation Management Plan, Program Strategy and related capability documentation; provide technical leadership across systems engineering teams; support audits and program governance.
