Job summary

Design & Build is seeking a Design Coordinator for a landmark South Australia project. You will support the project team with design coordination, review of drawings against contract scope, and handover between departments.

The role calls for strong communication and a solid background in construction design. Based in Adelaide, you will engage with estimating, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure design deliverables meet scope and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in design or architecture within construction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in project management and design software and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Ability to solve complex problems and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Review contract and handover documentation from estimating department.
• Create project scope for consultant engagement and design parameters.
• Coordinate design drawing reviews against contract scope of works.
• Ensure compliance with TP pre-commencement conditions.
• Assess RBS checklist for BP compliance.
• Review and approve shop drawings.
• Prepare project handovers between departments.
• Manage design processes through 6/7/8/9 stages.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture

Minimum 2 years' experience in design or architecture within construction

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Proficiency in project management and design software

With their first project coming up, a $300m build in the northern suburbs, they are seeking a Design Coordinator to support the project team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contract and handover documentation from estimating department
• Create projects scope for consultant engagement and design parameters
• Co-ordinate design drawing reviews against contract scope of works
• Compliance with TP pre-commencement conditions
• Assessing RBS checklist for BP compliance
• Shop drawing review and approval
• Preparing project handovers between departments
• Manage 6/7/8/9 process
• Vetting quotes received
• Take and distribute design meeting minutes

• Minimum of 2 years' of experience in design or architecture within the construction industry.
