Job summary

ACCIONA is leading the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant project in Perth, Western Australia. The Project Engineer (I&C) will plan, execute and oversee commissioning of electrical and control systems, ensuring testing and handover meet design and safety standards.

Working with construction, mechanical and process teams, you will drive loop checks, functional tests and system readiness verification, while liaising with vendors to optimise performance and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering or similar.
• Experience commissioning electrical and control systems on water/desalination or process plants preferred.
• Strong knowledge of switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, instrumentation and SCADA/DCS systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning plans for electrical and control systems.
• Coordinate with construction, mechanical and process teams to align commissioning with milestones.
• Conduct pre-commissioning inspections, loop checks and readiness verifications.
• Perform functional and performance tests on electrical equipment and control systems.
• Document test results and prepare commissioning reports for handover.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory codes during energisation and testing.
