Job summary

Synergy is seeking a DER Platform Operator for a 12-month fixed-term role based in Perth. You will oversee day-to-day operation, coordination and dispatch of Synergy’s DER/VPP fleets, ensuring reliability and compliance with contracts.

You will work closely with the Future Energy Business Unit, applying your DER knowledge, engineering/IT background and experience managing third-party technology partners to optimise asset performance.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Science, IT or Commerce/Business degree or Electrical trade qualification required.
• 3+ years in the electrical energy sector with recent technical roles.
• Experience with DER technologies and third-party partners/suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Operate, dispatch and manage DER/VPP fleets and third-party aggregator fleets during AEMO NCESS activations, ensuring contractual obligations.
• Monitor DER asset performance and availability, triage issues and initiate corrective actions.
• Complete DER device capability tests and validate readiness for VPP operations.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance across DER assets using SAP to manage work orders.
• Coordinate with maintenance contractors, OEMs, technology providers and internal stakeholders.
• Review contracts and coordinate operational and payment processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
