Job summary

Anglo American is seeking multiple Deputy roles at Moranbah North Mine for a full‑time, permanent basis. You will ensure legislative compliance, oversee safety, productivity and reporting of personnel and resources, and provide effective leadership of operational teams in line with the daily plan.

As Deputy, you will direct, control and manage mine performance within shifts to deliver high standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in underground coal mining with understanding of coal mining processes and applicable legislation.
• Current Queensland Practices certificate and Deputy certificates (Queensland/NSW Mutual Recognition).
• Current First Aid certification (Provide First Aid).
• Current RIIS301, RIIOHS301, RIICOM301, RIIRIS402 certificates.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute daily shift plans to guide crews on priorities and work requirements.
• Lead team meetings and ensure compliance with daily/weekly operational plans.
• Prioritise tasks and assign personnel, equipment, and resources.
• Make decisions to address shortfalls, manage risks and unplanned events.
• Conduct shift handovers and feed into daily plans for safe, continuous production.
• Monitor quality and safety across activities and ensure instruction adherence.
• Provide training and development to strengthen team competency.
• Comply with environmental and social requirements relevant to your shift.
