Job summary

Anglo American Steelmaking Coal's Moranbah North Mine is seeking Deputies for full-time, permanent roles to ensure safety, productivity and reporting in line with the site operations plan. You will lead operational teams and direct daily shift activities to uphold high standards of safety and quality across all crews.

The role requires extensive underground coal mining experience with current competencies in risk management and safety investigations.

Qualifications

• Extensive underground coal mining experience and understanding of coal mining processes and legislation.
• Current Queensland Practices certificate or Deputy certificates as listed above.
• Safety and risk management competencies as per RI-class certificates.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for safety, productivity and reporting of personnel and resources.
• Lead operational teams in accordance with the daily plan.
• Direct, control and manage mine performance within the shift/day to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
• Manage and execute set daily shift plans and direct crews on priorities.
• Lead team meetings and ensure compliance with daily/weekly plans.
• Ensure proper handovers and continuity of safe production across shifts.
• Maintain statutory responsibility for roadways and complete inspection reports as required.
• Provide training and development to strengthen competencies and output of crews.
• Contribute to safety, cost and efficiency improvement programs.

Queensland Deputy or NSW Deputy Certificate (Mutual Recognition)

RIIIS301 – Apply Risk Management Processes

RIIOHS301 – Conduct Safety and Health Investigations
