Job summary

Anglo American's Moranbah North Mine is seeking multiple Deputies to ensure compliance with the site operations plan, safeguarding safety, productivity and reporting. You will lead operational teams daily, directing shift plans and resources to meet safety and production targets.

The role requires extensive underground coal mining experience, current Queensland safety certificates, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive zero-harm outcomes and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground coal mining with understanding of coal mining processes and legislation.
• Current Queensland Practices certificate.
• Current Deputy Certificate (1st/2nd) or NSW Deputy with Mutual Recognition.
• Current RIIS301, RIIOHS301, RIICOM301, RIIRIS402 certificates.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily shift plans directing crews on priorities and work requirements.
• Lead team meetings and ensure compliance with operational plans.
• Prioritise tasks and allocate personnel, equipment and resources.
• Make decisions to address shortfalls and respond to risks.
• Complete shift handovers and support continuity of safe production across shifts.
• Monitor quality and safety, ensuring compliance with work instructions.
