University of New England (UNE) is seeking a Deputy Director, Facilities & Operational Services in Armidale, NSW. The role leads safety, compliance and excellence of the university's physical environment, overseeing Campus and Trades Services, maintenance and improvements for teaching, research and residential spaces.

The successful candidate will drive sustainability reporting and emergency management, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer within the Estate and Built Environment

About the role

As the Deputy Director, Facilities & Operational Services, you will provide the strategic and operational leadership required to ensure the safety, compliance, and excellence of UNE's physical environment. This executive role is responsible for the high-level management of our Campus and Trades Services, overseeing the critical maintenance and improvements that keep our teaching, research, and residential spaces functioning at their best. Beyond daily operations, you will hold strategic accountability for Environmental Sustainability¿driving our climate-related financial disclosure (CRFD) obligations, and our Emergency Management frameworks.

Operating in a collaborative partnership with the Deputy Director, Estate Planning & Capital Delivery, you will deliver a unified service to the University community, ensuring that operational intelligence and asset condition data directly inform our future capital investments under the Strategic Plan 2026-2035.

About Estate and Built Environment

The Estate and Built Environment (EBE) Directorate is responsible for the strategic planning, capital development, asset management, and operational services across UNE's property portfolio. EBE is part of the Chief Operating Officer's Portfolio and comprises the units of Finance and Administration, Capital and Asset Management, and Facilities and Operational Services.
