Job summary

Downer is seeking a motivated Deployment Engineer Wireless to join our Telecommunications team in Australia. You will deploy and integrate wireless infrastructure from feasibility through construction and commissioning, coordinating with designers, engineers and construction partners to ensure safety, quality and client satisfaction.

The role requires experience in telecoms/wireless projects, strong coordination skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecoms and wireless networks.
• Ability to interpret engineering designs and support field delivery.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.
• Qualifications in Telecommunications, Engineering or PM are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction and integration activities for wireless telecommunications projects.
• Ensure designs are practical, constructible and compliant with client specifications and legislative requirements.
• Act as the critical link between design and construction teams throughout project delivery.
• Manage site access, permits, materials and field based construction activities.
• Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.

Deployment Engineer Wireless

The Opportunity

At Downer, we deliver integrated services that create and sustain communities across Australia and New Zealand. We are currently seeking a motivated and technically capable Deployment Engineer Wireless to join our Telecommunications team.

Working within a multidisciplinary project environment, you will play a key role in the deployment and integration of telecommunications infrastructure from project feasibility through to construction and commissioning. You will collaborate closely with designers, engineers, project support teams, superintendents and construction partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with client requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinating construction and integration activities for wireless telecommunications projects
• Ensuring designs are practical, constructible and compliant with client specifications and legislative requirements
• Acting as the critical link between design and construction teams throughout project delivery
• Managing site access, permits, materials and field based construction activities
• Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes
• Supporting safe work practices and Downer's commitment to Zero Harm

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Experience within telecommunications, wireless networks, project engineering or deployment environments

• Strong organisational and coordination capabilities
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and compliance

Qualifications in Telecommunications, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
