Job summary

Bunnings is seeking a proactive Department Manager in Australia to oversee daily store operations, drive sales, and manage a 20+ strong team within a high-volume department. You will partner with Service, Inside the Home, Builders, and Lifestyles & Garden sectors, reporting to the Operations Manager and Complex Manager.

You will train and develop your team to deliver Best Experience to customers, ensure safety and compliance, and maintain Widest Range and Best Prices.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large teams (20+) in a retail environment.
• Strong focus on customer service and safety compliance.
• Excellent communication, coaching and people development skills.
• Able to manage stock, merchandising, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 20+ to maintain an engaged and safe work environment, while also performing duty manager responsibilities, including opening and closing the store across weekdays and weekends.
• Build team capability on Best Experience and Safety Culture & Compliance. Including team engagement, performance management and recognition.
• Rostering and strategic planning for your team to deliver on our service promise.
• Driving department sales through strong merchandising & monitoring of key metrics.
• Action customer feedback to improve the end-to-end customer experience.
• Own department stock accuracy including adjustments, replenishment discipline and loss prevention processes.
