Job summary

Serco, in partnership with Bupa, provides defence-ready dental services across 50+ on-base locations nationally, ensuring ADF personnel have access to on-site dental care. The role focuses on emergency treatments, exams, restorations and prosthodontics within a multidisciplinary team.

Located at Stirling Health Centre on Garden Island, the position collaborates with Medical and Nursing staff to ensure dentally fit personnel for deployment, with ongoing CPD and high standards of care in Defence

Qualifications

• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist, General with AHPRA.
• Minimum 2 years full-time post graduate clinical chair-side experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
• Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide dental services to patients, including emergency treatments, examinations and preventative care, restorations, minor oral surgery, x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and prosthodontics management.
• Liaise with the senior dental officer, medical officers, nursing officers and specialist dental providers to deliver comprehensive dental care.
• Promote and maintain good oral health of personnel in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures.

ADF Health Services provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. About the Role

You will be responsible for the provision of dental services to patients, including but not limited to emergency treatments, general examinations and preventative treatments, restorations, minor oral surgical procedures, x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and design/management of prosthodontics. In this role you will liaise with the senior dental officer (depending on clinic size), medical officers, nursing officers, and specialist dental providers where needed to provide comprehensive dental care. You will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the good oral health of personnel in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures, ensuring patients are dentally fit for deployment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist, General with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Minimum 2 years full-time post graduate clinical chair-side experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
• Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

About Stirling

Located approximately 45km South of Perth, the Stirling Health Centre is on base at HMAS Stirling on Garden Island. This base has a 4km causeway that connects the island to the mainland of Rockingham, and the health centre itself offers physiotherapy, dentistry, pharmaceutical, general medical and outpatient services, and provides support to the Submarine and Underwater Medicine Unit. Its standard hours of operation are 0730-1600, Monday-Friday.
