Job summary

Inner West Dental in Five Dock, NSW, Australia, is seeking a casual Dental Receptionist with preferred dental assisting experience. The role focuses on reception duties, patient care, and coordinating with the team. Expect 4.5–5 days per week, Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate of $37–$40 plus super based on experience.

You will welcome patients, manage appointments, handle inquiries, process payments and support with sterilisation as needed. Prior reception or assisting experience is valued.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in dental reception or dental assisting.
• Excellent presentation, a friendly, professional manner with clear and confident communication skills.
• Patience and empathy when helping patients.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and confidence using computer systems.
• A calm, practical approach when the practice is busy.
• Respectful teamwork, reliability and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and creating a positive experience from arrival to departure.
• Managing appointments, telephone enquiries and patient communications.
• Processing patient payments and maintaining accurate records.
• Coordinating with dentists and dental assistants to keep the day running smoothly.
• Providing occasional sterilisation and dental-assisting cover, where appropriately trained and experienced.
• This is primarily a reception position.
