Pathway 2 offers apprenticeship-style training toward a Diploma of Dental Technology, while Pathway 1 focuses on clinic administration and prosthetist support. Training and mentorship provided.

Dental Receptionist/Apprentice Dental Technician

Ocean Grove and Drysdale Denture Clinic is a modern, boutique patient-focused practice and dental laboratory delivering high-quality prosthetic care and custom solutions across the Bellarine Peninsula. We are expanding our team and looking for a proactive, reliable person to join us! We are open to two different pathways depending on the background, skills, and career goals of the successful applicant.

Work Type: Full-time or Part-time (Flexible for the right applicant)

The Opportunity

We are seeking ONE team member to join us in one of two available pathways:

Pathway 1: Dental Receptionist

Focus: Front-of-house operations, patient care, practice administration, and direct daily support for the Dental Prosthetist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greeting patients warmly upon arrival and managing incoming phone calls and emails.
• Booking appointments, scheduling recalls, and managing patient files.
• Processing payments (EFTPOS/HICAPS), issuing invoices, and handling basic office administration.
• Prosthetist Support: Directly supporting and assisting the Dental Prosthetist with day-to-day clinical workflows, patient entry, and administrative duties.
• Clinic Care: Performing basic cleaning, sanitizing, and tidying throughout the clinic, reception area, and lab to maintain high hygiene standards.

Ideal For: Someone with exceptional customer service skills, empathy, strong communication, and high organizational ability.

Pathway 2: Apprentice Dental Technician (Includes Phones, Admin & Support)

Focus: Hands-on dental lab training combined with front-of-house phones, basic administration, and clinical support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lab Work & Training: Learning model preparation, pouring, trimming, articulated setups, acrylic work, lab putty blockouts, and finishing while working toward a Diploma of Dental Technology.
• Prosthetist Support: Working closely alongside and directly supporting the Dental Prosthetist across both laboratory procedures and daily clinical operations.
• Phones & Admin: Answering patient phone calls, booking appointments, logging incoming/outgoing lab jobs, and managing basic office tasks.
• Clinic Care: Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including basic cleaning and sanitation across the lab, reception, and clinic areas.

Ideal For: Someone with strong manual dexterity, high attention to detail, and great interpersonal skills who wants to build a rewarding, hands-on technical career.

What We Are Looking For

• Reliability & Work Ethic: Punctual, organized, eager to learn, and open to constructive feedback.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using computer software (Microsoft 365, practice/lab management tools). Ideally proficient in D4W and XERO
• Experience: Previous medical/dental reception or customer service experience is a plus, but attitude, enthusiasm, and reliability are our top priorities. Full training will be provided!
