Job summary

Totally Smiles Morningside is seeking a friendly, experienced casual Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our two-surgery practice in Morningside, Queensland. You’ll greet patients, assist during procedures, and help maintain a welcoming, efficient environment.

The role blends front-d Desk duties with hands-on clinical support, offering varied responsibilities in a long‑standing team led by the Practice Manager and Lead Dentist.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time in a fast-paced clinic.
• Attention to detail and patient care focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with greeting, preparation and comfort.
• Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and support the dentist.
• Monitor inventory and keep treatment rooms organised.
• Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene.
• Collaborate with dentists and staff to ensure smooth workflow.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols.

About the position:

Totally Smiles Morningside is currently seeking an experienced casual Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team in a dual role. We are a warm, family-oriented two-surgery practice with a welcoming, close-knit environment, offering a range of treatments from general through to cosmetic dentistry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
• Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
• Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
• Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
• Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What do you need to succeed:
