Job summary

Opal HealthCare is seeking a Demi Chef to support kitchen leadership at Bossley Parkside Care Community. You will prepare and cook meals, assist Head and Sous Chefs, and ensure food safety and quality for residents.

The role offers permanent full-time hours with a flexible 7-day roster, opportunities for advancement to Sous Chef through the Opal HealthCare Academy, and benefits including tuition support and parental leave.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Several years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• A passion for food and a genuine desire to learn and take on more responsibility.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to complete: Pre-employment medical Police check NDIS Worker Screening Check Cook with Purpose

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals meeting resident dietary needs.
• Support Head and Sous Chefs in daily kitchen operations and food service.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Step up and lead kitchen sections and develop supervisory skills.
• Contribute ideas to menus to create a joyful dining experience for residents
