Job summary

Opal HealthCare is seeking a Demi Chef for Bossley Parkside Care Community in Western Sydney. You will be a key support to the kitchen leadership, preparing meals and helping deliver a joyful dining experience for residents.

You will work across a flexible roster with opportunities for progression, and you will benefit from specialist training through the Opal HealthCare Academy, plus weekend/holiday penalty rates and parental leave entitlements.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Several years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• A passion for food and a genuine desire to learn and take on more responsibility.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to complete: Pre-employment medical, Police check and NDIS Worker Screening Check

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals meeting resident dietary needs and preferences.
• Support the Head and Sous Chefs in daily kitchen operations and food service.
• Help maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Step up and lead sections of the kitchen, developing supervisory skills.
• Contribute ideas to menus to create a dining experience that brings joy to residents
