Job summary

Opal HealthCare is seeking a Demi Chef at Toongabbie Terrace Care Community to support kitchen leadership and deliver nutritious meals for residents. You'll work across a rotating roster, collaborating with Head and Sous Chefs to uphold high standards in food safety and service.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Several years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Willingness to complete pre-employment medical, Police check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high‑quality meals meeting resident dietary needs.
• Support the Head and Sous Chefs in daily kitchen operations and food service.
• Help maintain the highest standards of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and compliance.
• Step up and lead sections of the kitchen, developing supervisory skills.
• Contribute ideas to menus and help create a dining experience that brings joy to our residents.
