Job summary

Hamilton Island Enterprises – Hamilton Island QLD is seeking a committed Demi Chef to join the kitchen team at the Hamilton Island Golf Club on Dent Island. You will assist in the preparation and presentation of quality dishes in a high-volume, lunch-focused service.

You’ll work with senior chefs to develop skills in a professional, supportive kitchen and enjoy island living with subsidised staff accommodation and lifestyle perks.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential).
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Valid Australian working rights and driver's licence (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and cook dishes to standard under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organisation within your station.
• Rotate through kitchen sections, gaining well-rounded experience.
• Contribute to daily prep, plating, and smooth kitchen operations.
• Support junior staff and collaborate with the wider kitchen team.

Your Role
